Licensed Program

Barbering Program – Clippers, Culture, and Career Readiness

Our Barbering program is designed to prepare students to meet the educational requirements to pursue Wisconsin barbering licensure after completion of required hours and successful performance on state exams.

  • Clipper and shear cutting techniques, fades, tapers, and designs
  • Shaving, grooming, and hygiene practices
  • Barbershop etiquette, customer experience, and time management

Program Outcomes: Completion of this program alone does not guarantee licensure or employment. Licensure is determined solely by the State of Wisconsin after students meet all state-specific requirements.

Summer Media Arts (Non-Licensed)

Our Summer Media Arts program is a non-licensed, short-term experience that introduces students to beauty, content creation, and storytelling. Participants gain structured exposure—not professional licensure—to the creative side of the beauty and media industries.

  • Intro to on-camera presentation and personal branding
  • Basic makeup and grooming for media
  • Content planning, simple filming, and social storytelling
  • Career exposure to beauty, media, and entrepreneurship

Licensure Note: This program does not satisfy requirements for any professional license and is intended for enrichment and workforce exploration only.

  • Parents seeking structured summer learning

Group enrollments and community partnerships welcome. Ask about custom cohorts for your organization.

Braiding Workforce Training (Non-Licensed)

Professional Braiding Skills Aligned with Wisconsin Exemptions

Our braiding workforce training focuses on natural hair care and protective styles permitted under Wisconsin’s braiding and natural hair exemptions. This training supports skill-building, professionalism, and entrepreneurship—but it is not a licensed cosmetology or barbering program and does not, by itself, qualify students for any state-issued license.

  • Foundations in natural hair care and scalp health
  • Core braiding techniques (cornrows, twists, box braids, and more)
  • Client communication, professionalism, and safety practices
  • Introduction to pricing, booking, and basic business workflows

Compliance & Exemption Note: Wisconsin law provides specific exemptions for certain natural hair braiding activities. Zantegrity Academy’s braiding workforce training is designed to operate within those exemptions and does not replace or count toward a licensed Cosmetology or Barbering program. Students interested in licensure should enroll in the corresponding licensed program.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have additional questions about licensure, workforce programs, or partnerships, our team is ready to help.

Do your programs guarantee licensure or a job?

No. Zantegrity Academy cannot guarantee licensure or employment. Our licensed Cosmetology and Barbering programs are designed to help students meet educational requirements to apply for Wisconsin licensure, but licenses are granted solely by the State of Wisconsin after students meet all state requirements, which may include exams, fees, and background checks. Employment outcomes depend on many factors, including individual effort and local market conditions.

What is the difference between licensed programs and braiding/workforce training?

Licensed programs (Cosmetology and Barbering) are state-approved programs that may help you become eligible to apply for professional licensure in Wisconsin. Braiding and workforce training offerings are non-licensed programs focused on skills development, professionalism, and workforce readiness. They do not count toward licensed Cosmetology or Barbering hour requirements and do not result in any professional license.

How does Wisconsin’s braiding exemption apply to your training?

Wisconsin law provides specific exemptions for certain natural hair braiding activities. Zantegrity Academy’s braiding workforce training is developed to operate within those exemptions and emphasizes natural hair care, protective styles, and professional conduct. We do not provide legal advice, and participants are encouraged to review current Wisconsin statutes or consult appropriate authorities if they have questions about what services require a license.

Can FSET or workforce participants transition into a licensed program?

Yes. Many participants use workforce or braiding training as a first step to explore the field. If you decide to pursue a licensed Cosmetology or Barbering credential, our admissions team will walk you through licensure-track program requirements, timelines, and next steps.

Is Zantegrity Academy only for Milwaukee residents?

Our training is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and many of our students live in the greater Milwaukee area. If you are outside the area and are able to attend in person, you are welcome to inquire. Some workforce programs may have additional geographic or funding eligibility requirements.
